Desert Shoe

Traditionally manufactured shoes are made to have a symmetrical balance between textile and pattern. For this project I wanted to created a shoe that used a single textile, but collage in an abstract process to create unique designs. I used a sneaker last to create a modern silhouette, while combining it with natural a crepe sole for comfort. 


Designing the upper pattern pieces as well as the overall shoe

Painting the textile on duck canvas 

Making adjustments to upper sole before lasting 

Added first crepe sole layer

Forming the insole buy using a wet molding technique to keep its shape but also allow for an easy break in
